Made Real Time

Made Real Time

Made Real Time was designed to assist a user in using all of the ingredients they already had in their fridge to avoid waste. The Client had the idea to create a website that allowed you to input your ingredients into a database and from there, it would show you recipes in the system you could make based on what you had the most ingredients of.

The recipe priority is based on what is in your fridge. When hovering over the recipe, you will see which ingredients you have, how close of a match that recipe is for you, and how many more ingredients you need to complete said recipe.

Once you have selected the recipe, the screen will allow you to do a couple of things. From here, you can add (+) ingredients you do not have to your shopping list (list will be shown later in profile settings), alter the recipe (also shown later), mark as tried, view other recipes versions of this altered by other users, and reviews for recipe. These recipes are user created and are saved as their own creations in their profile.

When you click on Submit a Recipe, you will receive a form like the one below. This is what it will look like once filled out. This screen is also applicable to altering recipes. You will receive all the content that the previous creator had, and allows you to make your alterations and save a copy that is now your own. The user was kept in mind to allow vegetarian, vegan and other versions of the same style of recipe.

When clicking on your photo in the top right corner, your profile will be viewed. Here you will see the ability to add ingredients, your shopping list based on the ingredients you added from the recipes (+), and the recipes that have been created by you.

The Client also wanted to monetize this site so that it would be free to the public, so here were some examples we created to give him the idea.

When clicking the option to see ingredients in fridge, you will find a list of ingredients you have and boxes to add more. You will need to select an expiration date to make sure those ingredients are being used before they expire. The system will send you email reminders to create a meal with said ingredients.

Overall, the Client’s end-goal was to avoid food waste, help users try new recipes, and build a community of people that felt the same.
